Prof. Dr Dimiter Dimitrov was born on
January 30, 1932 in Vidin, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical
Engineering at the State Polytechnic. Since September 1999 Dimiter Dimitrov is Chairman of
the State Energy Regulation Committee with the Council of Ministers. Prof. Dr Dimitrov
worked at the Chemical Works in Kostinbrod, Izomat Mining Enterprise, Iron and Steel Works
in Pernik. In 1962 Prof. Dr Dimiter Dimitrov became Assistant Profesor at the Higher
Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Sofia (now Technical University). In
1969 he was made Associate Professor, in 1980 - Professor, in 1991 - Academic Council
Chairman and in 1992 - Rector of the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical
Engineering. Prof. Dr Dimitrov was Member of the Electrical Engineering and Automation
Committee with the Higher Accreditation Committee, Member of the National Agency for
Higher Schools Accreditation in Bulgaria and Member of the Bulgarian Economic Chamber
Managing Board. Prof. Dr Dimitrov is the author of numerous publications, among which are
over 100 research papers and reports in Bulgarian and international journals, 40 reports
at international conferences, 2 textbooks. Holds 15 certificates of authorship. Prof. Dr
Dimitrov speaks German. Married, with two children. |
